Katayoun is an Amsterdam-based record collector, radio host and DJ. Through a feminist lens, Katayoun brings music archives to life, connecting sounds, stories and generations. Her selections move between pre-1979 Iranian vinyl gems and sounds from the Iranian diaspora, including the Tehrangeles scene of the 80s to 00s. You might know her from Sonic Imaginaries on Kiosk Radio, or from dance floors, festivals and museum spaces where she invites audiences to listen deeper and move differently.
Babi is a London-based DJ and selector whose musical interests move across South-West Asia, North Africa, West Africa and beyond. His sets draw from Afrobeat, Jazz, Funk, Disco, Sothwest Asia sounds, North African grooves, West African rhythms, vintage regional music and modern global selections. He began DJing by gradually developing a sound shaped by rhythm, warmth and cultural curiosity. His approach is flexible and context-led, moving between listening-focused selections, cultural spaces, bars, festivals and dancefloor settings. Alongside his DJ work, Babi is the founder of Beats Kebab, a London-based party night centred around global grooves and community gathering.
Expect a groovy selection of music from Iran, Egypt, Lebanon, Türkiye, Morocco, Algeria, Palestine, Syria, Tunisia, with a twist from Armenia, Greece, India, and beyond.

A Night w/ is our weekly Friday night series at OASE. Every week, we hand over the decks to a different DJ collective, selector or musical community. No two editions are the same. One week you might find yourself dancing to Turkish grooves, the next diving into a completely different corner of the musical universe. The common thread? Summer energy, open-minded sounds and the kind of Kantine atmosphere that makes you want to stay for just one more track.

Katayoun is een Amsterdamse platenverzamelaar, radiohost en dj. Vanuit een feministisch perspectief brengt ze muziekarchieven tot leven en verbindt ze sounds, verhalen en generaties. Haar sets bewegen tussen bijzondere Iraanse vinyl vondsten van vóór 1979 en muziek uit de Iraanse diaspora, waaronder de Tehrangeles-scene uit de jaren 80 tot en met de jaren 00. Hij begon met draaien en ontwikkelde gaandeweg een eigen geluid, gevormd door ritme, warmte en culturele nieuwsgierigheid. Zijn aanpak is flexibel en afgestemd op de context: van luistergerichte sets in culturele ruimtes tot muziek in bars, op festivals en op de dansvloer. Naast zijn werk als dj is Babi de oprichter van Beats Kebab, een Londense clubnacht die draait om global grooves en samenkomen.

A Night w/ is onze wekelijkse vrijdagavondserie bij OASE. Elke week geven we de draaitafels uit handen aan een ander dj-collectief, een andere selector of muzikale community. Geen editie is hetzelfde. De ene week dans je op Turkse grooves, de volgende keer ontdek je weer een compleet andere muzikale wereld. De rode draad? Zomerse energie, een open blik en de ontspannen sfeer van de Kantine, waar je altijd nét dat ene laatste nummer wilt meepakken.
