Ripa Na Tulipa is a samba and pagode band formed in 2020, dedicated to bringing the tradition of rodas de samba to Rotterdam. A roda de samba is a much-loved Brazilian tradition where musicians gather around a table to play samba together, bringing people together through music and dance. Through their monthly gatherings, Ripa Na Tulipa aims to bring different communities together to celebrate samba and Brazilian culture.
This edition starts with collective Bora Brasil, who take over with a forró workshop and dance party before Ripa Na Tulipa brings the night to a close with a live roda de samba.
Ripa Na Tulipa’s repertoire moves from upbeat, danceable samba to more nostalgic and melancholic songs, featuring music by renowned artists and composers such as Fundo de Quintal, Arlindo Cruz, Dona Ivone Lara, Revelação, João Nogueira and Jovelina Pérola Negra.
Whether you're already familiar with Brazilian music or experiencing a roda de samba for the first time, everyone is welcome to join in.

Ripa Na Tulipa is een samba- en pagodeband uit Rotterdam, opgericht in 2020. De band brengt de Braziliaanse traditie van roda de samba naar de stad. Bij zo’n bijeenkomst verzamelen muzikanten zich rond een tafel om samen samba te spelen. Muziek, ritme en dans brengen mensen bij elkaar. Met hun maandelijkse avonden wil Ripa Na Tulipa verschillende communities samenbrengen om de Braziliaanse cultuur en natuurlijk de samba te vieren.
Deze editie trapt af met collectief Bora Brasil, die een forróworkshop en dansfeest verzorgen. Daarna neemt Ripa Na Tulipa het over met een live roda de samba.
