Expect live performances by Pedro Hagen Pimentel, Marijn van der Linden, Elizabeth Fadel, Melissa Morcote and friends, alongside dancefloor-ready sets from DJ Nick do Mundo and DJ MF Andrade. Join a Coco workshop led by Mariana Gelderblom, dive into Forró with Forró in Rotterdam, catch capoeira and maculelê performances, or jump into traditional folk dances like Quadrilha and Ciranda.
Fancy dressing up? Think checks, straw hats, countryside-core or full-on Festa Junina chaos. But honestly, come exactly as you are. We love you just the way you are.

About Festa Junina

Festa Junina is one of Brazil’s most loved celebrations, taking over streets, dancefloors and community spaces throughout June. Rooted in harvest traditions and the celebration of São João, it brings together forró, food, dancing and togetherness in one big, beautiful collision of cultures. Indigenous, African and European influences run through everything, from the rhythms to the rituals.

Expect colourful chaos at OASE: capoeira, live music, sweaty dance circles and a floor where strangers turn into dance partners by the end of the night.

About Forró in Rotterdam

Forró in Rotterdam brings the Brazilian dance style forró to the city through workshops and events. Their mission is simple: connecting people through dance, no matter your background or experience level, while creating a warm and inclusive atmosphere.

About Capoeiraschool Berimbau de Ouro

Capoeiraschool Berimbau de Ouro celebrates its 25th anniversary this year with a full week of events, culminating in Festa Junina. Over the years, the school has grown into a warm community hub for anyone drawn to capoeira, music and Brazilian culture. Alongside classes for all ages and levels, they regularly host events, workshops and celebrations centred around connection and culture.

Practical info

From 16:00, join us at the Strandtent for free outdoor programming, sunshine, drinks and dancing. From 20:00 onwards, the festival continues both inside and outside, with ticketed evening programming taking place in De Ruimte.

Een weekend vol Braziliaanse vibes komt naar OASE! Tijdens Festa Junina vier je São João, de Braziliaanse zomerzonnewende, met live muziek, DJ’s, dansworkshops en capoeira. 

Wat je kunt verwachten

Verwacht live optredens van Pedro Hagen Pimentel, Marijn van der Linden, Elizabeth Fadel, Melissa Morcote en vrienden, aangevuld met dansbare beats van DJ Nick do Mundo en DJ MF Andrade. Dans mee in een Coco-workshop (door Mariana Gelderblom) of Forró (door Forró in Rotterdam). Bewonder capoeira- en maculeléshows, of dans traditionele volksdansen zoals Quadrilha en Ciranda. Wil je in traditie gekleed komen, denk dan aan ruitjes, een strohoed of wat boers, of kom gewoon zoals je bent. Iedereen is welkom.

Over Feste Junina

Festa Junina is een van de meest geliefde volksfeesten van Brazilië die daar de hele maand juni omvat. Het is een kleurrijke viering vol forró, eten, dans en community, ontstaan vanuit oogsttradities en de viering van São João. De mix van inheemse, Afrikaanse en Europese invloeden voel je overal terug: in de muziek, de rituelen en de dansvloer. Verwacht in OASE een kleurrijke chaos, capoeira, muziek en een dansvloer waar onbekenden zomaar danspartners worden, het liefst met een caipirinha in je hand.

Over Forró in Rotterdam

Forró in Rotterdam brengt de Braziliaanse dansstijl forró naar onze stad met workshops en evenementen. Hun missie: verbinden door dans, ongeacht achtergrond of ervaring, en zorgen voor een feestelijke, inclusieve sfeer.

Over Capoeiraschool Berimbau de Ouro

Capoeiraschool Berimbau de Ouro bestaat dit jaar 25 jaar en organiseert daarom de hele week evenementen met Festa Junina als het hoogtepunt. De capoeiraschool is uitgegroeid tot een warm nest voor iedereen die houdt van capoeira, muziek en de Braziliaanse cultuur. De school biedt niet alleen capoeiralessen voor alle leeftijden en niveaus, maar organiseert ook regelmatig evenementen, workshops en feesten om de cultuur te vieren.

Praktische info

In de Strandtent is het vrij toegankelijke programma van Festa Junina. Vanaf 20:00 uur is er programma in de Ruimte waar je met ticket naartoe kunt.
