This time, IFFR presents a programme of four short films, including Regen in Augustus by Ashley Röttjers, winner of the IFFR RTM Pitch 2025. Free entry, but booking ahead is recommended.

Every Sunday afternoon, we turn OASE’s Kantine into a little cinema of its own. Sink into a sofa, treat yourself to a slice of homemade cake, and settle in for an afternoon of film, with headphones on and plenty of room to relax.
Each week brings a different theme and a different film programme, from cult hits and unexpected classics to short films by local makers. The programme is curated by OASE’s programming team, together with partners such as IFFR and Roffa Mon Amour.
Entry is free, but places are limited, so we recommend booking a ticket in advance. Fancy something to go with the film? You can also book a ticket with a slice of homemade pie and a cup of tea for €8.50.

Broken
A doll, both literally and figuratively broken, reflects on the moments that have shaped her life during a group therapy session. Carefully crafted, richly detailed stop-motion animation tells the story of this lonely figure, who finds new insights by allowing herself to be vulnerable.
The tone of this sensitive film about self-healing mirrors the materials used by South Korean director Hyewon Jung: light as white feathers, fragile as tiny pieces of pottery, and soft as sand.

Regen in Augustus (Rain in August)
While the modern world keeps moving around her, everything seems to have come to a standstill for lonely Jasmine. She misses her boyfriend, struggles with her emotions and feels isolated in her Rotterdam flat.
In this sensitive short film by filmmaker and photographer Ashley Röttjers, winner of the 2025 RTM Pitch, we follow a day in Jasmine’s life, as visions begin to seep into the film’s reality. After an unremarkable encounter with a woman at a tram stop, something in Jasmine seems to shift,m in this subtle film about isolation and human connection.
