What to expect

In this session you can enjoy the warm and vibrant world of Colombian sounds from Calamidades Lola’s private vinyl collection.

A Taste of Vinyl is a brand new recurring listening session at cultural space OASE where we treat your ears, fill your belly and warm up your hips. Curated by DJ and host MF Andrade. Each session dives into their records and stories, with curated bites to match. Before and during the evening, there’s a nourishing meal available (17:00 - 20:00 | order before 20:00). During the listening session, we share a matching snack inspired by the guest’s background. Afterwards, the night continues on the dance floor.

About Calamidades Lola

Calamidades Lola is a record hunter, DJ/selector and radio host born and raised in Barranquilla, a city on the Caribbean coast of Columbia. Now based in Berlin, her music reflects both her musical roots and her migratory experience.

Growing up surrounded by the massive and colourful picó sound systems of her neighborhood, Calamidades Lola absorbed African, Caribbean and Latin rhythms like cumbia, guaracha, and salsa that still define her sound today.

You might know her as a resident at Berlin’s Refuge Worldwide radio station, hosting her own radio show, Ama de Caza, where she shares her most recent finds on wax and invites DJs, musicians, and researchers of African diaspora sounds to join.

About A Taste of Vinyl

Each edition, host MF Andrade invites a guest he admires to share an hour of their favourite vinyl records. Records that hold memories, shape them, or carry cultural meaning. Together with the audience, we listen, reflect and enter into conversation.‍

About host MF Andrade

MF Andrade (Michel Andrade) is the host of A Taste of Vinyl and co-founder of FAROFFA, a Rotterdam-based movement that honours the mix of tastes between Cabo Verde and Brasil. As a DJ and cultural connector, MF Andrade creates evenings where different scenes, generations and stories meet.

“My role is to guide the dialogue, provide context to the music and create space for interaction between guest and audience.” - MF Andrade
