What to expect
Each Storytelling Night has a different theme. Each Storytelling Night has a different theme. This time, we’re exploring Ancestors: the people, stories and traditions that live on in us, inspired by the Mexican tradition Día de los Muertos.
Each edition brings together 4–5 people who share an 8-minute personal story around a central theme. Everyone can join. The evening is hosted and curated by Maria Indjeian Diaz. The Storytelling Night takes place in a cosy setting at OASE, where you can sip and eat while listening to the stories unfold.

About the theme

“As long as you live in this house”…words you never thought would come out your mouth. But you totally get it now.

Perhaps it was her fire, her stubbornness, or dramatic eyeliner framing her way she looked at the world. Her secrets poured into recipes or good taste in fashion. Or maybe it’s your grandfather’s voice you hear in the wind nowadays, reminding you that life is too short to take it that seriously. Go on that date, talk back at that person who did you wrong.

It’s your roots, all at once, plugged into your veins and guiding every step you. While it may seem like it sometimes, you’re never alone. They have your back, just as you will for the generations to come.

Open call: Share your story
Do you have a personal story that you’d like to share on stage? That would be awesome! Send an email to info@oaserotterdam.nl and host & curator Maria will get in touch.
