Op donderdag 27 november sluiten we het Kloofdichters-jaar af met de editie: feminine power! Een avond om te delen, te luisteren en te ervaren hoe veelzijdig het is om vrouw te zijn. Vrouwelijke kracht ontstaat niet in afzondering, maar in relatie tot de omgeving. Met host Daniela Jerez en performances van woordkunstenaars Halima Ikane en Daniëlle Zawadi. Het programma is een samenwerking tussen OASE, Spraakuhloos en Woorden Worden Zinnen.

Kloofdichters is een terugkerend programma waarin woordkunst en gesprek samenkomen. Elke editie draait om een maatschappelijk thema dat leeft in de stad.

Dit keer vieren we de kracht van vrouw-zijn. Host Daniela Montoya Jerez ontvangt deze avond de Rotterdamse woordkunstenaars Halima Ikane en Daniëlle Zawadi. De avond eindigt met een klein, symbolisch moment dat uitnodigt om dit thema niet alleen te bespreken, maar ook te laten groeien.

De avond is mogelijk met suppert van het Lira Fonds.

Je kan ook bij OASE's Kantine komen eten, voorafgaand of tijdens het programma. Een hoofdgerecht (familiegerecht) is €12,50.

Op vrijdag 28 november nodigt OASE het Rotterdamse initiatief Dat Bepaal Ik Zelf Wel uit voor een OASE Invites! Initiatiefnemers Floor Besuijen en Juul Lit hosten een avond vol muziek, kunst en gesprekken over iets wat eigenlijk zo simpel zou moeten zijn: veiligheid voor vrouwen. De avond is deel van de campagne Stop Geweld Tegen Vrouwen (25 nov – 10 dec).

Veel vrouwen hebben er dagelijks mee te maken: even een andere route nemen. Doen alsof je de opmerking van een mannelijke collega niet hoort. Iets anders dragen dat je zou willen.

Seksueel grensoverschrijdend gedrag is een wereldwijd probleem dat zich in allerlei vormen laat zien: van 'complimentjes' over iemands lichaam tot ongewenste aanrakingen op de dansvloer of op je werk. Wat al deze situaties gemeen hebben, is dat grenzen worden genegeerd, en dat laat sporen na.

Dat Bepaal Ik Zelf Wel wil het gesprek hierover openbreken. Over macht. Over schuld en schaamte. Over waarom we het normaal zijn gaan vinden dat veel vrouwen zich niet vrij en veilig voelen. Op hun eigen, eigenwijze manier: met een mix van kunst, muziek, gesprekken en zelfs een quiz!

Op 25 november is Suriname 50 jaar onafhankelijk. Een mijlpaal die vraagt om samen te komen, te delen en te vieren.

Tijdens Srefidensi Kon Makandra brengen OASE, Stichting Bigi Prisiri, Radio Stanvaste en Joan Nunnely de Rotterdamse en Surinaamse community samen die zich inzetten voor het Surinaamse erfgoed.
Het wordt een middag vol eten, verhalen, muziek en ontmoeting.

De lunch is meer dan een maaltijd: het is een ontmoeting tussen generaties, tussen toen en nu. Tijdens het event zijn er voordrachten, spoken word, live muziek en persoonlijke verhalen die het belang van deze dag voelbaar maken en de gesprekken aan tafel aanwakkeren.

Het menu? Een ode aan Suriname. Denk aan pinda soep met tonton van Joan & Peggy, roti van Roopram, cassave friet van AMSOI/OASE en bojo van Stichting Tante Helen. Gemberbier, koffie en thee staan op tafel. De rest ontstaat vanzelf.

Samen staan we stil bij het verleden, vieren we de kracht van gemeenschap en proeven we de toekomst van Surinaams erfgoed in Rotterdam.

Typical Tropical is coming back to OASE. Get ready for a night where tropical rhythms, salsa and bachata vibes take over.

This second edition, we’re going bigger: two dance floors, two worlds. The smooth swing of salsa on one side, the sensual flow of bachata on the other. Or just move between them, your feet will figure it out.

Typical Tropical brings the heat, we bring the vibe: cocktails at the bar, dinner in the Kantine until 21:00 and dancing deep into the night. A night to warm your heart and loosen your hips.

Science on Tap brings research to the bar: for everyone curious about the world around them. Scientists share their work in an open, down-to-earth way, making topics tangible and relevant. Grab a drink, listen, and join the conversation.

This edition, PhD candidate Charlotte van Tuijl (Erasmus University Rotterdam) dives into the complex question behind street harassment: How can we better understand the young people who commit it - and what drives their behaviour - so we can design prevention that truly works?

Charlotte’s research focuses on youth participation: working with young people instead of only about them. By engaging them directly in the research process, she explores what lies beneath acts of sexual street harassment and how a deeper understanding can lead to more effective, long-term prevention.

Her approach challenges the usual narrative. Instead of symptom-fixing or victim-blaming, Charlotte shifts the focus toward empathy, insight and responsibility by echoing the familiar call to action: “Educate your sons.” It’s a fresh, necessary perspective that’s rarely heard in public debate.

On Friday 5 December, the Kantine turns into a dance floor with purpose. A club night where you’re not just dancing for yourself, but for someone else too. All ticket proceeds go to Stichting Het Leerorkest, giving children the chance to learn and play music together at school and in their community.

The three-piece live band Het Concept will launch their brand-new show Shared House. A high-energy journey through 90s house samples, grooves and synths. Surrounding them, our DJs will weave the night together with everything from slow-building beats to proper dance floor heat.

The holidays are about warmth, connection and small rituals that make winter feel softer. One of those rituals is bringing a Christmas tree into your home. But the classic throwaway tree? That one doesn’t quite fit the times anymore. Millions of trees are cut, decorated for a few weeks and then tossed onto the street in January. Not very feng shui.

That’s why OASE and Adopteer een Kerstboom are teaming up again this year. Instead of buying a tree you’ll discard, you can adopt one. Your tree stays alive: you take it home for the festive season, enjoy it in all its green glory and bring it back afterwards so it can return to the soil, recover and come back again next year. Our trees can be replanted three to five times and they’re grown without pesticides, detergents or artificial fertilizers.

Whether you adopted your tree last year or want to join for the first time, you can pick up (or adopt) your Christmas tree at our Kade. Come choose your tree and warm up afterwards in the Kantine, open from 12:00 with hot drinks and good food.

Why adopt a tree?
An adopted tree isn’t cut down. It isn’t thrown away. It returns to nature, grows stronger over time and eventually becomes your tree.

A tiny history detour
Evergreens have been symbols of strength, resilience and renewal for centuries. Long before fairy lights, people placed green branches in their homes to honour life during winter. Somewhere along the way we swapped meaning for mass production. Adopting a tree is a way to bring the meaning back. It’s community care, extended to nature.

Let's paint some happy little accidents! It's time for another Bob Ross Painting Party!

Special: Reshape Rotterdam
What would Rotterdam look like if it were designed from a feminine perspective? This is your chance to paint a Rotterdam shaped by your own imagination. Think: How would your neighborhood look? What would bike lanes feel like? Bring your boldest, softest, safest, craziest dreams. Nothing is too much. You get to decide. And the long-lost niece of Bob Ross, Bobbi Ross, is here to guide you.

The workshop is led by Saskia den Hartigh and will be in English (but she also speaks Dutch). The workshop takes place in OASE’s Kantine, open from 12:00 with snacks, drinks, cocktails and more.

Op woensdag 10 december organiseert het Rotterdams Milieucentrum de jaarlijkse Groene Conferentie, dit keer bij OASE. Het thema van dit jaar: luchtkwaliteit. Hoe zorgen we samen voor schonere lucht in Rotterdam nu de strengere EU-normen voor 2030 dichterbij komen?

In aanloop naar de gemeenteraadsverkiezingen van 2026 (#GR26) is dit hét moment voor politieke partijen, bewoners en experts om met elkaar in gesprek te gaan over een gezonde leefomgeving. Verwacht prikkelende presentaties, nieuwe inzichten en ruimte voor dialoog over wat er écht nodig is om de stad gezonder te maken.

Rites of Passage Rotterdam is een nieuw programma van Diaspora Wellhouse.

Tijdens deze avond onderzoeken we hoe traditionele overgangsrituelen kunnen bijdragen aan welzijn, identiteit en samenleven in de stad.

Rites of Passage, of overgangsrituelen, zijn culturele tradities die belangrijke levensfasen markeren: van geboorte tot volwassenwording en van ouderdom tot afscheid. Ze staan symbool voor begeleiding, erkenning en groei. Wereldwijd worden deze rituelen erkend als immaterieel cultureel erfgoed én ze vormen nog altijd een levend welzijnsmodel binnen vele gemeenschappen. Een model dat ook vandaag de dag inspiratie biedt voor hoe we zorg, opvoeding en samenleven vormgeven.

The Lonely Cowboy Club is designed for those who feel deeply but find it hard to articulate; it’s an invitation to speak from the heart, be truly witnessed and gently lay down the weight of doing it all alone. The men’s circle is inspired by heart-sharing traditions and rooted in presence, rituals and real connection. No masks and no pressure as this is not about fixing or pretending, just open sharing.

What to expect:
This is more than just a gathering; it's an experience rooted in connection.

The Heart Circle (1 hour):
We begin by grounding ourselves, followed by an open circle. Here, you can share your story, your thoughts, or your feelings, as much or as little as you feel comfortable with, in a space of complete acceptance and no pressure.

Casual Connection (1-1.5 hours):
After the circle we move to a more relaxed setting at the OASE bar where you can explore deeper conversations and genuine connections.

This event is led by Brotherflow. Their mission is to form a community where softness, strength, and authentic brotherhood can flourish. They bring their expertise in exploring new masculinities, rituals and connections.

On Saturday the 13th of December, OASE transforms into a bustling winter marketplace with more than 50 Rotterdam makers and sellers presenting their finest handmade and pre-loved items. Expect a mix of vintage, art, handmade design, clothing, furniture, toys and sustainable gifts, perfect for yourself or as a present.

This edition isn’t just for people who celebrate Christmas. We’re celebrating winter itself: coming together, warm moments, and the stories behind every special find. Every pre-loved item has a past and is ready for a new chapter.

Throughout the day there will be small winter-themed activities to explore and when you need a break you can warm up in the Kantine with seasonal treats and good company.
